The curriculum will include diverse and entertaining learning methods adaptable to each child’s individual needs allowing the children to feel confident and comfortable in their learning experience. The different activities will develop critical thinking, problem solving and the ability to work alongside others and how to develop healthy communication and interpersonal relationships.
Curriculum
Our classes will be small allowing for a maximum of 15 children per classroom assuring more individualized attention to the students as well as a less stressful learning atmosphere. We will offer Kindergarten through seventh grade (K- 7th). Our teachers are professionals and trained to adhere to the Dominican standard of learning and meet the requirements by law to deliver the proper and highest standard of education. Each teacher is certified in their field and above all possess love and passion for children as well as teaching.
We will be giving the standard classes required by the law of the Dominican Republic in Spanish such as social studies, Spanish language, science, physical education, and computer science; however, we will offer English and French classes as well. Our focus will be on teaching English as a second language in all grade levels, with ten hours a week being given it will promote fluency in the English language. French will be given for two hours weekly starting in the fifth grade to seventh. We promote the appreciation of foreign languages, art and music cultivating understanding and developing social skills and cultural acceptance.
Physical education is a very important part of the child’s developmental and learning process and we will encourage physical activities such as sports, exercise routines, yoga and meditation, this will promote a healthy balance in your children emotionally and physically while nurturing the importance of discipline and self-confidence. We will encourage a strong ethical and moral understanding of acceptance and respect.
To ensure the successful development of each child we will be performing standardized quarterly testing. We feel consistent evaluation of your child’s progress is essential to achieve your child’s needs academically also allowing room for any adjustments that may be needed in your child’s curriculum to secure effective learning.
Extra-Curricular
As part of our program we offer Etiquette classes, Home Economics, mini meals, self-defense, meditation, and tutoring amongst other activities in after school hours. There will be a diversity of after school activities and projects every semester, at a small cost to the parent/guardian.
